Hi Trevor
I was reading your comments and I have to agree that the set up of Currys and Dixons is ridiculous.

I purchased a TV 2 years ago from Dixons. I sent it back last October to be repaired and had to wait 3 months for it to be returned but it was worse than previous.

I sent it back in Feb and by April I had still heard nothing so I rang them and they said they didn’t know where the TV was so I chased it up for 2 weeks and they finally found it and told me they were waiting for parts to fix it .

2 months later still know call back and I was trying to be as patient as possible. I phoned Mastercare the customer services back and they told me that they couldn’t repair it and I would be receiving a credit note to the original value of the TV. I was annoyed that it took 9 months for them to come to this decision.

In July I Travelled to Dublin from Tralee where I live and went into Gervis Street store as instructed by Mastercare. When I had chosen a TV I liked they asked for receipts to prove I had paid the €1,500 which I didn’t have with me and because of the amount of time it had taken to go through the process my details were not on file anymore .

Dublin contacted limerick store so I wouldn’t have to travel as far and said all I needed to do was produce the receipts and I could then get the TV.

Yesterday I went to Currys in Limerick with my receipts but they couldn’t authorise the purchase of a TV because they were unable get in contact with Masercare. They sent me to Dixons in limerick and I was to speak to the manager Gregg who had the authority to do so. When I arrived I was told he was off for the day.

I had been so patient all along having to take days off work and paying my own expenses for travel, I nearly lost it. My girlfriend was with me and only for her I would have turned the shop up side down. It would have been totally out of character for me to do something like that but this is what I have been driven to after being without a TV for 12 months and having to continuously chase them.

I am definitely going legal about this matter I don’t want anything from the dixons franchise and I really hope that nobody ever endures this torment.

I wish you luck with your camera and I hope you get what you rightfully deserve and don’t let them away with it.

Damien
